Dodgeball is Mobile Social Networking

Dodgeball is a mobile social networking site, and happens to be a property of Google. It's pretty simple - whenever you're out on the town you can "check-in" by texting the dodgeball phone number with your location, for example "Doyles Bar", and your friends are then all alerted of your location.

It get a bit more interesting though. If any of your friends' friends are within 10 blocks of your checkin point, you'll both be alerted with a message like "Tom is here, you know him though Mark". You can also choose up to 5 "crushes", cute girls you find on the site i guess, and if they're within 10 blocks, they get sent your picture and told you're where you are, meanwhile you're told that 1 of your 5 "crushes" is within 10 blocks (they don't tell you which one or exactly where, which is probably a good thing).

I really like it... well the concept of it, I haven't actually been able to put it to use yet. I've never heard about Dodgeball until recently, let alone someone else using it, nor is the site very helpful when trying to discover interesting people as the profiles are very limited. I could see GPS phones taking this to another level, and if Google ever decides to integrate/promote it more, it could be pretty cool.
