NYC Subway Stops on Google Maps

As Ionut Alex. Chitu found on posted on my favorite Google related blog, Google maps now shows metro stations in NYC, as well as the outlines of buildings.

Google has had a transit service for a while now, but I think it's pretty lame since they have not included NYC as of yet, maybe it's cool for people in Portland and Seattle... you know, because they have public transportation much more impressive than NYC and deserve it more... yea.

Perhaps this is a sign they'll start integrating subway directions with Google Transit pretty soon, or better yet, junk Google Transit and include the directions in Google Maps which makes much more sense. If you live in NYC in need directions for bus and subways, I've found HopStop.com pretty useful. The guys at Hop Stop should probably start to worry though, once Google starts giving directions they'll be useless.
