My kingdom for a programmer
Anyone who has talked to me in the past year knows about Music Slice. I can't go more than a few hours without working on the design for the site or some other aspect of the company, seriously.
My saga to find a great programmer that fits continues. The first attempt dates back a year ago, eLad - the man who seemed ok until we realized he didn't know what a mute button was supposed to do, and was scared of anything creative.
Maybe a dozen more came after, not even warranting a second look until we came to ROss. ROss was defined by his ambivalence and could not even settle on a language for the site. He failed miserably at a first attempt on the events section, earning him the ax after a month of being a pain.
The current programmer is by far the worst, having wasted a quarter of the past year lying about doing work, not having anything worthwhile to show and disapearing for a week at a time, phone disconnected at times, even the old MAILER DEMON response from email at times. I couldn't tell you what the status is with this guy is, as he is currently in stealth mode as we speak. Half of the Music Slice budget is in his pocket, and getting it back may require legal action.
Is it that hard to find a good guy? One who loves the project, and wants to do it because it's the right thing? One who breathes java and reeks of AJAX? This guy is out there somewhere, and Music Slice will treat them right one we find him.
